The Problem
For several years now, Trinity Life Ministry has been operating at capacity, turning away hundreds of men. It is very difficult and heartbreaking when we have to make these decisions simply because of our limits on capacity. We are turning away men who need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be discipled.
It’s hard to start over. After Covid, inflation sky-rocketed: groceries, gas, supply chains, and housing all went up in price, and they are not going down anytime soon.
Often, the men who come to our program have only the clothes on their backs. After they are commissioned, they are faced with the challenge of having to find a vehicle, car/health insurance, paying continuing court fees, ankle bracelet fees of $600/month, child support, and if married, providing for their families. Finding housing is the biggest challenge; apartment rent is a minimum of $1200/month plus utilities — and that is if they can even find a rental available to a person with a felony. The picture is clear…without assistance, it is almost impossible.
The Vision
In October of 2022, the Trinity Board prayed that God would allow us to expand our ministry to include more men. IN TWO DAYS that prayer was answered — we were absolutely awed by his miraculous gift of a 10,000 sq ft building in Linden, Indiana.
The building had been partially remodeled, but a lot of it remained completely unfinished. We were awed by the staggering post-Covid construction materials and costs as to how we might be able to make this building a future home to more men. We came to the conclusion that God didn’t give us a building to just sit there, but as an answer to our prayer. And we know that what God gives to us, He also provides.
The Mission
We believe it is time to step out in faith and trust God to complete this building in Linden that could house another 20 men following the one-year program for continued training and discipleship for the next 1 to 2 years.
By being able to offer a lower rental cost per month, the men will be able to save or find a job/vocation that will pay a living wage.
Goal: We are asking God to raise $500,000 to complete this new expanded opportunity for these men.
